Our Work Groups

Financial vulnerability impacts our community at multiple levels, often in interconnected ways. While we believe in solutions that transcend a single issue, NFIN focuses its efforts in five areas to improve well-being in the North Fulton community and is the only organization in our region to address all of these issues at once.

Our work groups meet monthly to address each of these topics and are open to the public. We are always seeking to hear new voices and perspectives from the community. If you are interested in attending one of these meetings or connecting with a work group, please contact us through this page.

Workforce Housing

We strive to ensure that housing is not a barrier to being thriving members of our community. By exploring and promoting workforce housing options, we hope that the North Fulton area can be a place where community members can both live and work.

income and Employment

North Fulton is home to both a variety of unique businesses and a strong base of workers. NFIN seeks to connect citizens who are able and willing to work with employers looking to fill positions to help their enterprises thrive.

Transportation

One of the largest barriers to work is transportation from one’s home to job, which often are not geographically close. By connecting citizens with public and private transportation options, we can secure a healthy, employed workforce to enhance our community and make it available to everyone.

child well-being

Early childhood is a pivotal time of development, and quality child care is essential to ensuring children’s physical and emotional health. With a rise in dual-earner families, it is often difficult logistically and financially to afford traditional daycare. NFIN works with local businesses and nonprofits to create and showcase innovative solutions that allow parents to continue working while guaranteeing their children are cared for and safe.

Food insecurity

Adequate nutrition is essential to function and lead a fulfilling life. However, too often, this need goes unmet and is difficult to identify. NFIN seeks to connect the community members experiencing food insecurity with the variety of organizations here that provide assistance with food.
