MARTA Reach Limited Time Pilot
MARTA’s Reach pilot program has expanded into the North Fulton area. MARTA Reach is a partnership pilot program between Georgia Tech and MARTA offering on-demand transit in four limited areas across Metro Atlanta.
Riders in North Fulton can now use this public version of Uber-style ride sharing services, through August 31st, 2022. This pilot is meant to test how on-demand shuttles can be used to make it easier and faster for riders to get to and from their destinations using MARTA.
This program has the potential to bridge the gap between businesses/employers and bus/rail routes, particularly in North Fulton, where routes are limited. The North Fulton pilot zone is almost 9 square miles. Service includes the Mansell Park & Ride, and bus routes 85, 140, 141 & 142, with connections to North Point Mall, Avalon District, and Georgia State University’s Alpharetta Campus.
How it works:
Destinations must be within the piloted areas. 18 MARTA Reach branded eight-passenger vans (they are wheelchair accessible) travel the piloted area picking up and dropping off riders that request a ride within the coverage area. This is a MARTA service, fares and usage are the same as with MARTA transit and bus services. MARTA standard fare is $2.50.
Who can ride:
This program is available to the general public, and no advance reservations are needed. Vans have 8-passenger capacity.
How to request a ride:
To get a ride with MARTA Reach, riders must book at trip by downloading the MARTA Reach App or calling MARTA customer service at 404-848-5000.
Shuttles operate 6:00AM to 7:00PM, Monday-Friday.
Standard $2.50 fare with transfers are included, and passes are accepted.
Provide feedback:
Feedback from riders and potential riders is important for pilot programs like this one. If you receive a request to complete survey after using MARTA Reach, please do so.
